I’ve been known to fake the funk when fall arrives and pretend that summer is still upon us but there’s no denying it―fall is here. This year I’ve decided to embrace the cooler months rather than mourn the departure of summer and what better way to begin the transition than a darker nail polish palette courtesy of shades from SpaRitual Nail Lacquers Wilde collection.
SpaRitual Nail Lacquers is a vegan line of nail polishes that is free of DBP, formaldehyde and toluene. In addition to their three-free formula, the brand also uses vegan materials, eco-friendly packaging and does not test on animals or use any animal by-products. I received two polishes from the SpaRitual Nail Lacquers Wilde collection―Instinct and Spirit Child―a collection of deep, moody, shimmering polishes.
Instinct is a relatively deep metallic, almost jelly, purple nail polish with a slight red undertone. The formula is a little thin but easy to manage and apply. Two coats are enough unless you’re a little on the neurotic side like me and don’t like to see the nail line.
Spirit Child is my favourite of the two polishes and is a metallic maroon. This polish reminds me of car paint with its golden shimmer. While Instinct and Spirit Child come from the same collection their formula is slightly different. Spirit Child has a thicker formula and is a true two-coater (great for nail art or quicker nail polish application).
The SpaRitual Nail Lacquer Wilde collection is available at Lush & Lavish and retails for $13.95.
VERDICT: I really like both polishes and would like to get more shades from this collection. While the brush was average, I really appreciated the non-slip grip covers (easy to open and close with wet nails) and the micro-sized gold flakes.
