Patio season in Toronto is in full swing and I had the pleasure of taking in the sights, sounds, food and beverages at the Ritz-Carlton Toronto for the opening of Casa Bacardi at Deq Terrace and Lounge.
At the event waitstaff served delicious cocktails (all with Bacardi in them, of course) created by cocktail consultant and Bacardi mixologist Trevor Burnett who made me a delicious Piña Colada made with real coconut milk and pineapple juice and served in a coconut.
In addition to the cocktails the waitstaff also passed around hors d’oeuvres including beef tartare, coconut shrimp, crab cakes with mango salsa and fish ceviche, all made with Bacardi rum. A very nice touch.
The swanky hotel’s “outdoor urban oasis” and lounge features an organic mint garden (hello, fresher than fresh signature Bacardi mojitos), cocktail bar, an open-air fire pit, an indoor lounge, an outdoor terrace with views of the CN Tower and Simcoe Park AND a ‘Mixology By You’ drink menu that allows patrons create their own mojitos and caipirinhas with a staff dressed in custom Bustle uniforms. A perfect, stylish place for relaxed after work drinks and delicious snacks.
