Fashion | Anna Dello Russo to design an accessories collection for H&M [video and pictures]

…And the collaborations keep on coming. H&M has been churning out designer collaborations within the last few months with partnerships with Versace, Marni and David Beckham and Vogue Nippon editor-at-large and creative consultant and fashion disciple Anna Dello Russo is the latest to step up to the collaborator plate with a luxe, over-the-top accessories collection to match her exuberant, more is more style sensibility.

“I am excited by this collaboration: this is the first time H&M has involved a fashion director in a special project. This is the sign of an important evolution in fashion, and I am both thrilled and humbled to be the one chosen to lead it,” says Dello Russo. “I wanted to create precious accessories that are impossible to find. As a stylist, I know accessorization is essential; it is the personal touch in any outfit. With these pieces, everybody can have fun, and turn an ordinary day into a fantastic fashion day.”

This collaboration is a great move for both H&M and Dello Russo. The collection’s focus on accessories rather than clothes makes Dello Russo’s aesthetic accessible to the less fashion-obsessed and the collaboration reinvigorates the obsession with Dello Russo just as it has begun to wane.

As an accessories obsessed individual I am very excited for this collection but the question is will I line up?

The collection of jewellery, sunglasses, shoes, bags and a carry-on will hit 140 H&M stores worldwide and online on October 4, 2012.
