Fashion | KayTran presents reinvented eyewear classics with a modern twist

I had the pleasure of visiting Pink Eye Optical (1030 Queen St. W.) for the launch of KayTran Eyewear. The new eyewear label presented a carefully curated 20-piece capsule collection of “iconic, reinvented classics” that featured the soon-to-be equally iconic KayTran fit―a beautiful marriage of style and function, classic and modern.

Much like most things in fashion, the beauty of KayTran’s designs is all in the details. Tortoiseshell shades are updated by adding purple to the mottled brown and yellow, the eyewear is designed in Canada and handcrafted in Italy using luxurious materials, and each design features the KayTran Fit.

The curvature of the lens and frame is reduced to prevent the glasses from resting on your cheekbones, the bridge of the frames has been narrowed and the nose pads have been raised to prevent the glasses from slipping and the temple angles have been widened to prevent indents and marks from forming on your cheeks.

Putting on a pair of KayTran sunglasses is lick slipping into a well-fitting bra after wearing a poor fitting one. You notice the difference instantly. My eyelashes didn’t brush against the lens, the glasses didn’t rest on my cheek and I could move my head freely without worrying about the sunglasses slipping or falling off.
