Fashion | Swarovski Swings, Sings and Shines at their Spring/Summer 2012 preview

Marcus Kan of À La Mode will be reviewing the Swarovski Spring/Summer 2012 men’s collection next week.

Swarovski looked to vintage styling, the 1960s and the “lights, camera and action of the entertainment world” for their Spring/Summer 2012 jewellery and accessories collection Swing, Sing and Shine.

The purveyors of precision-cut crystals illustrated the evolution of a young woman from student to starlet through their collection which featured bedazzled oversized chain links, stones in geometric settings and gigantic crystallized metallic spheres. Flowers, hearts and geometry were recurring themes throughout the collection which had an elegant, sophisticated feel.

In addition to their trademark crystals, the brand also used black resin beads, grosgrain ribbon and crystal pearls which were crafted into .

On the handbag front the brand designed satin, leather and crystal-embellished clutches perfect for starlets young and old, real or imagined to carry on the red carpet or for an evening out. Other accessories included key rings, charm bracelets, cellphone cases (only for you iPhone users), business card holders, bag charms, coin purses, USB keys―you name it, they made it―all trussed up in crystals.

I fell in love time and time again in a way that I didn’t think I would for a Swarovski design. I loved the gargantuan rings, the movie star sunglasses and the metallic crystallized balls that turned up on rings, necklaces, bracelets and earrings. There was something for everyone in the Swing, Sing, Shine collection regardless of age, gender or personal style.
