“Fashion must be the most intoxicating release from the banality of the world.”

As per my 2011 Fashion Resolutions I’ve decided to mix some fashion books along with my usual sci-fi and fantasy novels. So far I haven’t gone at this resolution as voraciously as I could have but I have read House of Gucci by Sara Gay Forden and, most recently, D.V. by fashion icon Diana Vreeland.
The book was a very lighthearted read and a look inside the mind of the Harper’s Bazaar and Vogue columnist and editor, creator of many fantastic exhibits at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute and social butterfly. The book documents the fantastic life of Diana Vreeland and is like hearing her life story told through her own spoken voice rather than merely reading written words.
