Quote, Unquote | Bill Cunningham New York

“See, a lot of people have taste, but they don’t have the daring to be creative.”

A lot of ink, both digital and analog, has been spilled writing reviews and critiques of the wonderful documentary Bill Cunningham New York since it hit theaters in New York on March 16 (I wrote a preview post here). I won’t add much more to what has already been said and written but I will say it was an informative, poignant, must-see movie about an amazing, intelligent man with a beautiful heart.

The archival footage and interviews from friends, colleagues and street style subjects like Iris Apfel, Editta Sherman and Patrick MacDonald enrich the film and add some insider commentary and context to the life of the very private photographer.
