Fashion | Rudsak Spring 2011 Preview

Last week I attended the Rudsak Spring 2011 preview with Marcus Kan of à la mode. (For those who don’t know Rudsak is a Quebec-based fashion label for the urban warrior and is known for their leather accents and pieces.) This was my first time attending a Rudsak preview and I was interested in seeing how they would incorporate leather into a spring collection.

The preview was held in a rustic loft-like space with a swing hanging down from one of the metal rafters (!) and the collection was made up of airy dresses, straw handbags, strappy sandals and studded flats in a light colour palette of white, tan and silver with some black pieces thrown in to round out your urban uniform. I apologize in advance for the fuzzy pictures.

My favourite pieces from the collection were the black leather sandals with silver hardware, the lace up espadrille sandals and the silver straw handbag with a little flashlight for searching for your wallet in your bottomless pit handbag.

There were even some pieces for the boys including leather bomber jackets, a gorgeous cream leather messenger bag in the thinnest of leather, casual slip-on mocassins, and low-cut and high-top sneakers.
