And they’re off! The first day of New York Fashion Week has come to a close and designers like BCBG Max Azria, Z for Zac Posen, Norma Kamali and Todashi Shoji sent their designs down the runways.
Max and Lubov Azria carried their geometric and colour blocking trends from Fall 2010 into Fall 2011 with a layered, wearable collection. This time around crimson punctuated the various shades of gray and navy.
Lightweight turtlenecks were layered under floor-length spaghetti strap dresses, sheaths and rompers in a very modern 70s silhouette.
The fall palette is usually rife with earth tones, grays and blacks so it was nice to see some colour via the aforementioned crimson and cobalt blue.
