Fashion | Elie Saab Spring 2011 couture collection

The Elie Saab Spring 2011 couture collection was a lesson in texture. There were floral print dresses with flower poufs at shoulder and hip, sheer chiffon concoctions with beaded overlays and a shimmery sequin mauve taupe gown with floral appliqués from bosom to hem.

The pleats, drapes and folds evoked a Greek goddess-in-training and the spring floral print was young and fresh.

But despite all the texture and detail there was something about the collection that left me wanting more, something incongruous, half-thought out that I’ve been unable to put my finger on.
