Fashion | Alexandre Vauthier Spring 2011 couture collection

I always look forward to Alexandre Vauthier’s couture collection because his designs show so much promise and because there is always something unexpected, exciting and fresh about his designs.

For his Spring 2011 couture line Vauthier tapped into the 70s’ ever-flowing spring of inspiration to produce a collection that would look right at home on the back of Diana Ross or Beverly Johnson.

While there is still room for growth I love absolutely the sumptuous furs, the fish scale bolero, the sequin fringe on the black jacket and the diversity on the runway.

It was the influence of Vauthiers former mentor that showed in this collection namely in the collections gimmicky pagoda-shoulder leitmotif.
