The Joe Fresh world takeover has begun! The little grocery store clothing brand that could will be expanding to New York City but they won’t be opening in a Loblaws store. For its NYC edition, Joe Fresh will be opening in a 15,000-square-foot standalone in the glittering “glass box” retail space store at 510 5th Avenue.

I’m curious to see if and how the brand will change when it enters the American market. Will the NYC store’s offerings be closer to what we see on the runways? At any rate, I’ll be sure to add a trip to the NYC Joe Fresh store to my next New York City itinerary.

Update: Joe Fresh founder Joe Mimran says that the deal for the NYC store has not been finalized according to a tweet from FASHION Magazine editor-in-chief Bernadette Morra.

It looks much brighter and energetic and I love the equal representation of Black and racialized models, designers and industry heads. Thank you Waylah. I’m glad that you enjoy the changes to the blog (especially the header which I designed myself). One of my goals with this blog is to give equal representation to all within the fashion industry and I’m glad you’ve noticed.
