Each year I write a list of two resolutions: A set of regular resolutions (on this year’s list is saving money and getting my exercise on) and a list of fashion resolutions and unlike my regular list of resolutions I actually accomplish the things that I vow to work on.
Here is my list of fashion related things I’d like to improve on in 2011.
Kill the LBD. I own many LBDs. Too many actually. In 2011 I am going to institute a moratorium on the purchase of LBDs and I’m going to spend my shopping dollars on dresses that cover the entire colour spectrum.

Be more adventurous. When I was in high school and university I took a lot of fashion chances (and I have the embarrassing photos to prove it). While I had a lot of fun experimenting with different colours and silhouettes, I didn’t enjoy the stares that I received and I eventually adopted a more socially acceptable mode of dress. In 2011 I’d like to recapture the excitement and joy that getting dressed provided and step out of the uniform that I’ve adopted. I made strides in 2010 but I’d like to take it to the next level next year. That means more volume, more colour, more accessories.

Wear hats. I love my hair. A lot. And because of my love for my hair I’ve never been a hat person. Thanks to people like Jorge of Oliu Millinery and Noëlly of the blog Miss Sly I’d like to embrace the elegance, drama and whimsy that are hats and other headwear.

Read up more on fashion. This year I read a lot of amazingly informative books on fashion Deluxe: How Luxury Lost It’s Lustre and House of Versace: The Untold Story of Genius, Murder and Survival. This year I would like to continue reading more books on fashion and learning more about the history of the industry and art form that I love so much. Time to dust off my Fairchild Dictionary of Fashion.

I’ve been a reader of your blog for a while now and quite enjoy your take on the fashion world and the insights you share about your own foray into this world.
As this is your look forward post here are some installments from the previous year that I’d like to see more of – who wore it better (male editions), fashions from other cultures, and maybe you could add a post here and there for the lovely ladies who don’t lean to the femme styles.
Can’t wait to see what you have in mind for your loyal and faithful readers in 2011.
Thanks for the suggestions and for visiting the blog hwest. I’ll definitely keep them in mind when I redesign the blog and streamline the content in the new year.
amazing designs check this one!!
