Last week Lisa Tant, the editor-in-chief of Flare Magazine, asked her Twitter followers who they would rather see on the cover of fashion magazines, models or celebrities. Her followers sounded off and while many were for celebs like Lady Gaga, Gwen Stefani and Dita Von Teese gracing the cover of fashion magazines models won the great debate.
It seems that the decision-makers at Flare also believe in the power of models as Dutch model Doutzen Kroes appears on the September cover of Flare.
Doutzen, who wears a Prada dress, was shot by photographer Max Abadian and styled by Flare’s fashion director Liz Cabral.
I really like this cover. It feels fresh, airy and doesn’t feel overly cluttered with text. Plus Doutzen, one of my favourite models, looks so ethereal.
What do you think of Flare Magazine’s September cover choice? Do you think celebrities should hold places of honours on the front cover of magazines or should models reign supreme?
