Taking A Chance: Underwear as Outerwear

When the clock struck 2010 this year I made two sets of resolutions: one general set (work out, increase savings, learn French) and a set of fashion resolutions. On that list (which I blogged about here) I said I wanted to take more fashion chances and one trend I would like to try out, but couldn’t seem to rationalize, is the underwear as outerwear trend.

As I was doing my usual web surfing aka procrastinating I saw this image on Forever 21’s blog The Skinny (which is actually very good) and saw this image in a blog titled White-Washed and Ready For The Sun.

I really like this look though I may swap the acid wash jeans and giant polkadot bow for a light wash pair of skinnies and some large sunglasses. It’s simple, doesn’t really look like you forgot to wear your bra under your shirt and is just daring enough.

What do you think of the underwear as outerwear trend? Are you going to try it out this summer or is it a bit too much for your fashion sensibilities?

  1. I think it looks great, just the right combination so it looks like you are meant to be showing your bra without being tarty.
