What I’m Clicking This Week

I do quite a bit of internet surfing and I often stumble upon a lot of very interesting posts, articles, and other tidbits.

  • On their blog Worn Fashion Journalwrote about Sheena Matheiken and her Uniform Project.  She has vowed to “wear one dress for one year as a lesson in sustainable fashion.”    Matheiken is also taking donations as the Uniform Project is also a year-long fundraiser with all moneys going to the Akanksha Foundation’s School project, which provides uniforms and other educational expenses for children living in the slums of India.

Here are some of the very creative outfits that she has come up with.

  • This Summer I was bitten by the vintage bug and have been frequenting Kensington Market and other thrifting hotspots looking for unique pieces.  Well I stumbled upon Indonesian blogger simplycheap’s blog over on Chictopia.  On her blog you will find photographs of her in the most gorgeous, stylish completely thrifted outfits that usually cost $20USD or less.  AND she has just recently started to sew some of her own pieces.  I love her sense of style…J’adore…!

  • Dottie and Stephie over at Fashion Nation received a package recently from Hermès!  In this special package was MANIFESTE (Hermes manifesto for their ties),  Hermès’ in-house magazine The World of Hermès and the Hermès MANIFESTE tie!  Gorgeous pictures and commentary about the opening and contents of the Hermès package.

I had to change my pants after I saw the Hermès tie. Que rico!

On another note, Sheena Matheiken is doing a great job! I was actually thinking about the volume of fabric I go through in clothing a year. We are so horrendously unsustainable.
