Seen on the Scene: Fergie and Julia Roberts Visit David Letterman

Both Fergie of the Black Eyed Peas and actress Julia Roberts hit up the Late Show with David Letterman last night.

Fergie entered the Ed Sullivan Theatre wearing this graphic sequined cutout mini dress with matching silver shoes.

This dress is nice and on trend with the glitter and cutouts but I don’t think that the David Letterman show is the right place for an outfit like this unless it was specifically for a performance (can you imagine her trying to sit in this?).  If not it just looks like a dress that wouldn’t be out of place on the red carpet for the MTV Music Awards or on the ice at a figure skating competition.  And yes I’m ignoring the fact that her dress looks more like a top.

And went for a little more coverage when leaving.

I like the bag, the shoes, the studded two-finger ring and the glasses and that’s where the ‘like’ ends.  The rest of the outfit is unappealing.  Those jeans are not a very good fit, that jacket leaves much to be desired and I don’t think her stylist made any attempt to put together a cohesive outfit.

Julia Roberts opted for something a little more relaxed and New York chic.

Julia Roberts

I like Julia’s outfit. A comfortable, relaxed outfit that is spiffed up with the heels and the black palette.

  1. Lucas says:

In the first picture, Fergie looks like a horrendous coked-up Rio call-girl squeezing every last bit she can out of what little remains of her youth.

That point being made, Julia does look lovely and comfortable – a lesson in spades for the preceding Angeleno Black Eyed Pea.
