Burlesque on Bloor Courtesy of Holt Renfrew

Holt Renfrew - Burlesque

"I advocate glamor. Every day. Every minute." - Dita Von Teese

I passed by Holt Renfrew for the last burlesque performance of the day today.  The windows were all done up with feather fans, male and female mannequins dressed up in gear reminiscent of the Roaring Twenties, quotes from various burlesque dancers and daring women, and fluorescent lights in the shape of martini glasses, eyes, women’s legs and hearts.

There was a decent sized crowd of curious onlookers there and interestingly (at least to me) the age of the crowd ranged from late thirties to early fifties.

When the ladies Anna Coquette and Esther De Ville came out I overheard, “I wonder if she knows how sexy those garter belts are?”, “Ooh!  A little razzle dazzle” and “Wow! That was spectacular!”

I really enjoyed the costumes and the fact that the wome were of a healthy weight and extremely comfortable with their size and I LOVED the feather fans.
