A Spring Handmade Market

A few months back I went to an event thrown by fellow blogger Yvonne Kai of HeyDoYou called Fashion Showdown.  There were two girls wearing the EXACT SAME SKIRT and very similar outfits – full skirt, with a tube top and strappy heels.  Neither of them looked happy for the entire evening (which was unfortunate for them because Yvonne knows how to throw a party).

I suppose that’s the beauty of haute couture (other than absolutely amazing attention to detail and construction).  A one-of-a-kind piece that you don’t have to worry about seeing on anyone else.

For those of us who don’t have $20,000 and up to spend on a couture gown or custom made jewelry there’s vintage shopping and etsy.com, the online marketplace for handmade often one of a kind wares, who will be throwing A Spring Handmade Market which will be featuring over 20 Toronto artisans and designers.
