As Joe Zee of US Elle often says, “Twice is a coincidence, and three times is a trend” so I’m going to venture out and say that having models in blackface is one of the industry’s most offensive trends.
First, it was Lara Stone in Paris Vogue in blackface.

Then it was the models on America’s Next Top Model in blackface (for the second time).

Then it was Sasha Pivovarova in blackface with Heidi Mount in V magazine.

What do you think of the new trend of models in blackface? Offensive, artistic or a little bit of both?
