I’ve been experiencing double jeopardy – feeling a little of physically and in a dark mood emotionally so I haven’t felt up to doing Scene On The Scene.
Well I’m back and ready to dissect the fashion/style choices of the glitterati.
The Julie & Julia New York premiere was chock full of stars including designer Rachel Roy who wore coral-ish jacket with distressed, cuffed jeans, a black camisole, jewelled T-strap sandals and a mosaic clutch.
How can someone who designs such beautiful clothes continually fail at dressing herself? I might have liked, not loved, this outfit had she gone for a different shoe and maybe even a white top.
Also in attendance was actress Amy Adams in a Carolina Herrera Resort 2010 floral printed dress with a beaded draped neck and gold snakeskin envelope clutch.
I actually kind of like this dress. I won’t pretend I “get” the draped neck piece but the dress is quite nice. I would have preferred a different coloured clutch (black, gunmetal, silver, etc.) but this look is alright.
America’s Next Top Modelalum Jaslene Gonzalez was also in attendance at the Julie & Julia premiere and she wore a draped bi-colour floor length gown.
Jaslene is one of the most visible ANTMcontestants/winner and she always manages to wear the most hideous ensembles. This dress is horrible and looks like a failed grade 12 home ec project.
Mad Men’s Christina Hendricks strikes a pose at the 2009 TCA AMC cocktail reception in California on Tuesday and she wore an emerald green Catherine Malandrino empire waisted dress with ruffle shoulders.
I really like this outfit. I love the dress and I like how she kept it simple yet elegant with the gold shoes and clutch. My only complaint would be the shoes which look like something someone in small town Ontario would wear.
Amber Rose attended a dinner celebrating J Brand’s collaboration with Hussein Chalayan and she wore a skintight black dress with a Louis Vuitton statement necklace, gold bangles, a black patent clutch, gold hoops and red suede shoes.
I usually dislike most things that Amber Rose wears but I like this outfit. I love each piece. She’s beginning to look like a Ford model.
Bai Ling, who word has it is dating Lionel Richie, attended the Los Angeles screening of Paper Heart on Tuesday in the world’s smallest mini skirt.
No comment.
On the other side of the Atlantic Ocean Amber Le Bon, daughter of Duran Duran lead singer Simon Le Bon, wore a sequined sweater with a black skirt and Oxford-esque shoes to the launch of the Esquire Singular Suit Project in London.
I like. Flashy yet somehow simple. Modern yet retro and classic. London chic.
